Works great as supossed to

Perfect great price seemed ‘like new’ and have loved using it metal cover can be useful I’d also suggest getting a splatter screen but it’s deep so needs one less. My chemist connection explained to me ‘stainless steel’ doesn’t exactly mean that ane could use various products to clean it but a little discoloration is normal. It didn’t take much to clean even (my fault) burned on food coated spots, for example. And the picture color isn’t perfectly accurate (photo makes it look worse off color) it does have streaks similar to streaks on glass that I could have buffed up more. LOVE this amazingly useful and satisfying-to-use panDownsides?Cost: but I love this se-seller mine appears new (like new?) at a great price! It’s a little heavy. This isn’t a fault just a factor. It’s big and layered steel (the middle aluminum layer helps distribute heat evenly and why it’s called a ‘clad’ pan…’all clad’ looks like invented this or coined the term at minimum!).If totally full it will be heavy I’d hot mitt and use the opposing handle too (which it has). Two hands on the strong arm handle is possible but awkward even if only small stuff in it. It’s…what it is. If it was lighter …. It wouldn’t have the same materials that work great and size.I like the style of the all metal lid classic and have used it but some like plexiglass I mentioned on any case a splatter screen (check diameter) always good to have again I’m good!!If it was smaller it would be lighter and easier to handle but then I couldn’t confidently make a huge pan/pot of spaghetti sauce from ground beef to all other ingredients one pan/pot (this one) nearly full no problem. COULD have emptied and boiled pasta in it too but did use separate pot for that ;-)One pan to rule them all!

This is a quality piece of cookware!

I received this pan today and just used it for the first time but, oh man, I already love it! I did a ton of research on cookware and concluded that All-Clad D3 is the right choice for me. This is my first purchase toward building a new cookware collection. As expected, this pan heated evenly and cooked my recipe perfectly. It is heavy, of course, since it's a large pan. But the ergonomic shape of the handle and the extra grip on the opposite side makes it easy to deal with. It looks and handles like the professional tool it's designed to be.I've seen comments and photos from other reviewers who complain that this line of stainless steel cookware is hard to clean and stains easily. I've been cooking with stainless steel cookware my whole life, over four decades with the same pots and pans (Revere Ware), and have never had food residue or a stain I couldn't remove with Barkeepers Friend or Cameo or the like. I've overheated empty pans, burned food, etc., but my 40+ year old cookware still looks like new. I can still make an omelet in my decades-old Revere Wear frying pan that slides right out onto the plate. So I have to wonder about the cooking/cleaning techniques of the reviewers.I purchased this 12" All-Clad Weeknight Pan because I needed a larger pan and I couldn't decide between a skillet and a sauté pan. I think this pan is the perfect hybrid of the two. I look forward to enjoying it for many years to come!

Everyday Pan is Every. Day. Pan.

TL;DR - IF you know how to cook with stainless-steel, this might be the only pan you use for 99% of your meals.I bought this pan in July of 2019, after finally getting a kitchen remodel and a new glasstop range. I've now been using it for over 6 months, so it's time for some thoughts.First, this is NOT A NON-STICK PAN. It's not supposed to be. If you cook without oil, or at too high of a temperature, you will not get good results. If you use this pan properly, food sticking in an unwanted manner is not a problem. You will get lots of beautiful brown bits for your pan sauce, and easy clean up in the dishwasher.Stainless steel needs to be preheated, usually 5 or 10 minutes, then add your oil, swirling to coat the pan, followed by the food. I have only used higher than Medium heat (4 out of 10) on my GE Range a few times for things like searing steaks or stir-fry. For most purposes, Medium is as high as you need to go, as this pan heats very evenly and retains that heat for a great, even cook edge to edge.Second, size. This is a pretty hefty pan, do not expect to be able to easily toss as you sauté. The high sloping sides are beautiful for pouring, making sure that sauté splatter is minimized, and finishing off one-pot recipes on a simmer. 4-quarts means weeknight chili-o with several cans of beans is easily handled without using a dutch oven or large pot.Third, cleaning. I recommend wiping this pan out as soon as you are done with it, and giving it a quick scrub while it's still warm (not hot, warm) if you have particularly clingy sauces. See the photo with the gnocchi for an example of a sticky dish. Most of the time it goes in the dishwasher after a quick rinse and comes out clean. Over time it can develop a cloudy unpolished look, but a quick polish with Barkeep's Friend will have it looking like new.Overall, from the moment I opened the box and felt the balance and heft, to now over six months and at least one hundred meals prepared later, I have never doubted whether it was worth spending $180 for a pan. It's my everyday pan, and the one I love the most. 5/5 stars.
