A gift for my wife , it is what she wanted
Handsom/great looking pan feels solid . All our other name brand all warp in the middle so we where getting a uneven heat . Would like to see how this 9.5 performs ,have had it a month now but yet to look in it. Would love to have the 12" and see a 8" eggs pan in the only coating, Hope never get mad and hits me upside my head with it. Lol

Awesome Product by ALL CLAD!! Always buy US made Products!!
There is nothing to dislike about these pans! Some people whine about the weight and I say toughen up!! The pans are not that heavy and if you have problems moving these around, maybe you shouldn't be cooking! Are they easy to handle if you are pouring from them with 1.5 gallons of liquid in them...? NO! But tell me which pan that is easy to pour from with the same liquid and I will bet that type of pan won't last 30 years either!! These are tough and beautiful and work exceptionally well if you READ the INSTRUCTIONS! You can't simply throw them on a blazing burner and leave them......you have to COOK!! If you can't devote the time to them and your food, Buy microwave dinners and a good microwave! LOL!!

Not non stick
I followed instructions with vinegar and water before first use, used for the first time this morning to cook eggs, white pudding and sausages, cooked with oil. While the food didn't stick when I washed with warm soapy water using a sponge to clean these marks/food would not come of very disappointing. $300 for 2 pans

Worst pan ever
The worst pan ever, everything sticks to it, you can even fry potatoes in it. I thought that “universal” pan meant that you can fry in it, but this is not the case. Don’t waste your money on this one

Wife loves it
She prefers this now over her LeCrusette cookware. It's very high quality.

so versatile and so well made!!
The product is shipped in a really nice box ,The pan is easy to clean and looks great all around with its luxurious appearance in and out. It is roomy and works great on top of my stovetop. Cooking in this pan works extremely well as the heat temperature is evenly distributed throughout the pan so the food comes out exactly the way it should and is the temperature it should be. Pan and lid are heavier than one would expect!

All-Clad FUSIONTEC Universal Pan 4.5 quart Onyx
A product of Germany this 4 1/2 quart universal pan is ceramic coated over a thick steel core and it has solid stainless steel handles and lid. The pan measures approximately 11 1/2 inches in diameter and 3 inches in depth. The workmanship is excellent, it heats and retains heat evenly and the pan is a thing of beauty. It has substance with a weight somewhere between enamel coated cast iron and regular stainless steel. The only quibble is that to keep it looking great and avoid damage there are rules. The pan works well for a variety of tasks for example searing, browning and cooking liquids all in one pan. It can also be placed directly under a broiler up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit and it can be used on all cooktops including induction. The interior has a guide with helpful marks indicating 1, 2, and 3 liters on one side and 1, 2, and 3 quarts on the other. Also, the rim allows surprising control when pouring from a pan without a spout. The care and maintenance specifics are contained in the included pamphlet/limited warranty card. From my perspective the pan is worth the effort but individuals can decide if it is a good fit for their use. A couple of examples of special handling include although stated to be dishwasher safe there is a caution in the guide to avoid harsh detergents and detergents containing bleach stating they may affect the finish. Dishwasher detergents have damaged other coated pans of mine so I will be washing by hand.Further, no harsh scouring pads should be used and other items that should not be used in the pans include hand held beaters, knives or utensils with sharp edges as all may cause damage to the finish. The guide states that cutting or vigorous scraping may cause superficial scratches in the finish. I am using no metal in the pan—just silicone and nylon utensils. Rapid changes in temperature should be avoided—instead after cooking wait for the pan to cool down which I assume is to prevent thermal shock from damaging the ceramic finish. Also, before first use the pan should be filled 2/3 of the way with water and 2 to 3 tablespoons of vinegar added. Bring the solution to a boil and then continue boiling for 5 to 10 minutes, rinse well and dry with a soft cloth to avoid spots. Following the instructions in the guide will help retain the pan’s gorgeous appearance and avoid possible damage but unlike this brand’s sturdy stainless steel pans more care is required. Love the pan but it does require some special handling.
Great cooking, clean-up
One thing - the lid is very heavy. Why? The pot itself distributes heat very nicely. I've used it on a Viking gas stove and on an induction cooktop. Very nice! But the lid seems strange. I'd rather have a glass lid which would be lighter and would let you see what's going on inside.
