Description

Everybody loves pizza. And with this pizza-making kit, everyone will love making pizza just as much. The pizza stone is made from soapstone, a soft, spongy rock that wicks away excess water particles from the dough, leaving a deliciously crispy crust, just like you would get from a traditional wood-fired oven. The serving tray is made from durable stainless steel, so it’ll keep its flat round shape. Its sturdy riveted handles make it easier to pull your pizza out of the oven. Use the accompanying rotary cutter, also made from stainless steel, to slice it up and presto, your kitchen is now your favorite pizzeria.

Awesome Pizza Stone

I really like this pizza stone. The stone provides an even cooking element and also, you can cut the pizza right on top of it! No need to remove the pizza. Additionally, it is a serving platter. If you want to use it for more than pizza, serve your next charcuterie board on this with easy carrying handles an a next level elegance.

Quality as expected.

Received it yesterday and seasoned it. This piece is stunning. The stone is thicker than expect so I’m sure it’s going to do an amazing job. Can’t wait to cook on is. Just wanted to post some good photos of the seasoned look.

If you accept that it will not stay pristine, this a good looking setup that works well

This is a great looking stone. The picture shows the stone before its been coated with oil and the color goes very dark when you do that, with lots of beautiful marbling. I like that. There are no instructions with the item but you can google them - just google allclad pizza stone manual and you'll find some info.If you use this stone in the oven with the ring at the same time you'll find its very easy to put in and out of the oven, which is my preference. The steel ring will take on a bronzed effect because of the oil you use to season the stone. I don't mind that - its more important that its easy to take in and out of the oven.If you cut the pizza on the stone then the stone will definitely take on cutting marks. Again, I don't mind that but some people have been disappointed at how easy the stone scratches. Soapstone is pretty soft and either you remove the pizza and cut it on another surface or just don't worry. My preference is to cut the pizza on the stone and leave it there because the stone keeps it hot.The instructions for seasoning the stone are to rub it with vegetable oil and then bake at 350 for a couple of hours before first use. I used avocado oil as its good at high temperatures. This is a great stone for baking pizza! you can get a really high temperature and preheating it replicates a full on brick oven nicely.

Nice Idea, poor and expensive execution

This product makes a nice crispy pizza crust. However, it simply doesn't cut it as a serving tray. The included pizza cutter is excellent, sharp and cuts well - perhaps too well. The pizza stone itself is quite soft and the metal pizza cutter will leave surprisingly deep cuts in the surface (on the first use). The stone and handle ring separate - great for cleaning. However, it's also a major design flaw. You would think that you would be able to put the metal serving tray in the oven with the stone to make serving the pizza easier. You'd be wrong - the instructions expressly tell you NOT to put the metal serving ring in ovens over 400 degrees (pizza baking temp). How do they expect you to transfer an 8 lb 500 degree stone from the oven to the serving ring?If you planned on using the serving tray + stone for anything but cooking pizza, don't. The stone darkens and the metal scratches don't look great as a cheese tray.Save your money and buy a single purpose pizza stone + a peel (make sure you get a thin one if you're using a stone, thick wooden peels don't allow you to slide under the pizza on a stone/oven rack).

Pizza wheel that comes with it works excellent. Season the stone according to directions

Lets start of by saying that I worked in a pizzeria in New York making pies for some time. Pizza wheel that comes with it works excellent. Season the stone according to directions. Pre heat stone in oven for about 45 minutes at 500 degrees. Remember. Bake at the top of the oven. Always when baking bake at the top! make your pie and slide it onto the stone. I stretched the dough puting semolina down first on the cardboard that came with it. Helps to make the right size and semolina makes it slide right off onto the stone. I used all ingredients that I brought home from my favorite local pizzeria. The end result was nothing short of amazing. I never thought that I could get pizzeria quality pizza from my oven at home! As a matter of fact it came out better than the pies I made in the pizzeria oven! You must pre heat the stone first or your pizza will not be crisp on the bottom! I love pizza and can eat it all the time, even for breakfast! This pizza stone was well worth the purchase. I absolutely love it! For me I didnt use the holder that came with it in the oven. I put just the stone in the oven and slid the finished pie onto a wooden cutting board and cut it on there. I kind of didnt want to put the holder in the oven even though it can be done. All in all I am very happy with this purchase.

the tray has no bottom, it's a hollow hole

I'm returning this product. I should have believed the reviews that said the round tray under the pizza stone is a hollow circle. The photo does not show this, but I thought I could trust the brand and considering the price, thought that could not be true. The "tray" is not a tray, it has no center, it only has a slim edge all the way around. The tray can't serve anything, all it does is hold the stone along a slim edge.I bought this mainly to have a nice stainless steel tray that won't rust. I already have a nice, but small All-Clad stainless steel cookie sheet, but wanted a larger one. Obviously, this won't work.

The ONLY way to make a pizza

If you want a great pizza and have been thinking about trying a pizza stone - this is the one! It's a world of difference than using a pan, you get way better pizza on the stone. Plus it a great for breads too. I would highly recommend this product. We have made so many pizza's since we got it that it's not funny and we haven't tired of it yet. Plus we're still experimenting with different breads. The tray has convenient handles, perfect for it's weight. It is very heavy, we ordered our first one from 'another place' and it came cracked. We re-purchased the same exact one at Amazon - they packed it well. You should buy a cheap peel while you are at it until you get the feel for it and decide on a good one.
