I expected better from All Clad
I needed service tongs for the table. These will do. They are not the prettiest but not the ugliest and will serve it's purpose at the table or buffet. It's a SIMPLE look. More country rustic than elegant. I aligned the heads to make sure they were tight. They were not perfect, but mirror imaged enough. I used them to pick up a plate, spoon rest (ceramic and SS), and utensils. They picked them up fine. This is my personal test. If they can pick up heavy plates, they won't have trouble picking up vegetables or meats. They have enough flexibility where the whole of the heads are tight without gaps where food can slip out. It has a decent heft to them, which is what you would expect from 18/10 stainless steel. Although, it does not state this anywhere. I'm going by the information I got from the All Clad website directly.The reasons for my 3 rating: I think it's expensive for a product made in China and less than glamorous. It has the All Clad name, that's all you're paying for. As stated above, it is simple looking. I will use it for casual dinners with family and friends but we also do some elegant entertaining and I would not use it for that. These are just my personal preferences. Others may like the way it looks. I also like when the stainless steel grade is marked, which this is not. I will never know but with time if these truly are SS or if they are true All Clads even. It did not come in a box but cheap plastic, which was them put in a padded envelope. It's a good thing these don't seem to be damaged. They are fine enough for casual dining and if they were more reasonably priced, I might purchase another one. I've returned a few tongs after receiving because they were terrible. I will still be looking for higher end tongs.

All Clad Great Design Tong
I am fond of buying kitchen utensils particularly Stainless Steel items. This pair of tongs is very well made and looks solid, it is made with thick stainless steel with good weight excellent for serving dishes. It is a must-have serving tongs for a proud chef! The good feature of this item is you don't need to pull the top to open the tongs like most average tongs are, the opening is wide enough to pick up any kind of food served. If you can't find this item at the store, this is perhaps the one you can purchase online.

Useful tongs for salads or BBQ
I like these tongs better than the longer All Clad hinged tongs (All-Clad T112 Stainless Steel 12-Inch Locking Tongs). Although made in China, they are nicely finished, and the high polish makes them easy to clean.
