Pricey but wow!
Okay, so it costs too much. I felt the same way about my LA creuset Dutch oven, but it's stupidly awesome. 🙂 I see why it's the number one selection for America's test kitchen. There are other saucepans in this zone that might do as well, but this is the top of the pile and if you only ever need to buy one for the rest of your life, this is it. 🙂

Most used pan in my kitchen
I’ve made everything from gravy to Alfredo sauce in this pan. Works great on my induction cooktop. Very even heat distribution. Nicely sloped sides makes for easy whisking. If I had to get rid of all my pans except one, this would be the one I keep.Seems like I make a lot of marinara type sauces. I like adding the pasta to the sauce in the pan. The starch from the pasta thickens the sauce and the flavor soaks into the pasta as it finishes in the sauce. With this pan there is plenty of room for this method and the lid keeps the heat in while I tend to other things.As with all stainless steel pans without a nonstick coating it requires fat and/or liquids to prevent sticking. So keep that in mind if you are not used to that.I find clean up to be about the same as my other SS clad pans. I have All-Clad, Made In, Viking, and now Le Creuset. If I have something that is really stuck, I let it cool, add some water, heat on the cooktop, and give it a good scrape with a wooden spoon or bamboo scraper.I highly recommend this pan and I plan on getting the smaller one as well.

This is a great pan! Very versatile, decent size and the handle does not get hot at all. I really like how this saucer feels in hand - nice and heavy. One thing to look out for - it is a bit bigger than other saucepans, so it might not fit if there is a frying pan next to it. But this will depend on your range and other cookware

Recommended in Cooks Unlimited magazine. Such a great pan every person who loves to cook (or even despises cooking) should get to use this pan.By that I mean it makes cooking so much easier. A wire whisk or a wooden or any spoon will clean the sides very well as you stir. Stirring while cooking is more effective because of the design.Clean up is easier. Not sure why.Worth every penny because you'll will grab this pan every time you cook.The helper handle is really nice too.Do yourself a favor and buy it for yourself and you'll find yourself throwing away your flimsy, lightweight pans forever.I've been cooking for 50 years and this is the best cooking pan I've ever used.

I have a smaller kitchen, so need pots that tick a lot of boxes in versatility. It’s a saucier but can also cook up oatmeal, cook up ground meat or faux meat and spaghetti sauce, to soups and chili. A handy pot that I wish I had had long ago.
