What was I thinking spending $65 on 4 tiny little 6 in. bowls.
The bowls are nice and packaged very well and yes, they're "Made in England" as far as we know. However I must be losing my mind to have spent $65.00 on these. That's about $16 for just 1 little bowl. They're little, 6 inch diameter porcelain bowls that they have at the dollar store for .99 cents. Yeah, sure they're well made but they're tiny. Picture the bowl that a small soup or just one scoop of ice cream at any diner would come in. That's all they are. I'm nuts to have spent so much on just 4 little bowls.

Good brand and great plates.
I became aware of this Made in England brand, and I like the fact that these dishes are not made in China but produced in Europe. The information I found elsewhere suggests this is a high quality brand and manufacture, which also explains the higher price, which I am happier to pay for given the non-China component.Likes:? For the price, these had better be high quality, and indeed these are really nice dishes. These have nice weight, but are more like china, rather than stoneware. They fit together in the pantry rather easily. I opted for the white. After using dishes with a pattern, these are not boring at all, but very pleasing with good food served on them. These are not clearly machine made and are not perfectly symmetrical either. However, these store easily. The bowls themselves are smaller than you might expect. These are more for small portions and similar rather than what would be larger soup bowls and things of that nature.Dislikes?: These are not the cheapest option available. You are paying for the quality and place of manufacture (which personally I prefer). Also, due to the manufacture, there are slight pocks on three places on the bottom which are almost unnoticeable, but I found them thanks to other reviewers. Honestly, these didn't bother me at all.Overall: This is a really nice complement to the other Made in England dishes offered. The size is abut perfect, not too big or too small. These look nice and have a wait look and feel. The bowls are really for smaller portions, but if you are aware of this, this makes for a nice set and really are a good complement to the dinner plates.

Honestly Though

Handmade "flaws" show more obviously on these
I am in love with Made In's dishes. Their plates and serving platters are drop dead gorgeous quality so I didn't think twice to grab these bowls as well. I got both a white set and a blue rim set. They're just as pretty as the plates with one caveat: these had a few more flaws on them than I expected. First, be advised that it is normal to have four small rough spots on the underside of each piece-that goes for the plates and platters as well. This is an unavoidable mark of the ceramic process. Some such marks are larger and more noticeable that others; luck of the draw which you get. On the bowls these marks are both seem and felt during use, unlike with plates and platters. The other think though is that of the eight bowls I got, two has some spots the glaze seemed to miss that wasn't one of the typical four marks. Also several of them (the majority, actually) give the appearance of a very small hairline crack if you turn it over and look at the bottom.Since it's in the same location for each one and clearly not affecting the integrity of the bowl, perhaps this is also a factor in the handmade process. But at this price range I feel it's important customers are aware they won't be receiving a "picture perfect" bowl....and that's okay!I still love these bowls and enjoy the same heavy, glossy, understated beauty you have to see in person as the plates and platters. Just be aware the "flaws" will be a little more obvious on these.

Nice Porcelain , after using these - I love them
I am a huge Made In fan. I have all of their cookware !This is my first time ordering the dishes and bowls.I like the quality of their products, they take great care and pride in everything from packaging to the finished products and it shows. This is a small “side dish “ so don’t expect it to provide you space for a salad or cereal. Because, you will be disappointed...- That is what I thought when I pulled them out of the box, but after using them for weeks. Amazingly they hold more than I originally expected and I use these more than my other dishesIf you are concerned about the red line accent in this dish. It’s not overwhelming and will not distract from your color scheme , it’s a small accent and it’s barely noticeable.I ordered the set in red. However , I got the blue appetizer and dinner plates in blue line porcelain, Which I think I prefer. These side dishes are heavy quality and they are smooth in your hands.I washed them in my dishwasher with no problem. These side dishes will probably outlast Me , on this earth, so it’s a set you will be able to pass down in your family, which is a comforting feeling.I also got the navy rim side bowls and they are just as amazing as the red rim ones. I suggest you get both sets. It’s always nice to have extra side bowls ! They go well together
GREAT SIZE FOR MANY THINGS
These are heavy & well made. Great side for various side dishes. Got plain white which will go with any table setting.
