Beautiful pie pan

The shipping packaging was very sturdy. The pie pan is lovely and well made. I imagine it would take some harsh treatment to actually chip the pan. My first pie came out beautifully. Definitely recommend it.

Great pie dish and serving bowl!

Made in France. Perfect size pie dish. Also, it could be great serving bowl. All Made-in plates and bakewares are high quality, beyond my expectations!

Beautiful and very useful

I was going to post a picture of an empty pie pan because it is big and beautiful, but the photos on site are accurate. I have to say that I dithered a bit berfore ordering it because I do not make a lot of pie... but the pans I have are old, tin or something like, and this pie pan is a world away. I have several pieces from Made IN and their products are all very good, beautifully made, and though expensive, absotely worth it.The first thing I made with it was a deep dish pizza, because it is oven safe to nearly 700 degrees (higher than my oven goes). I will say that mistakes were made. That pie went in and out of the oven several times as I remembered things I had wanted to add, and each time I cringed.... taking a 500 degree ceramic pan out of the oven and putting it on a cool surface. I really did not want to spoil this pie plate, but, it survived. All they say it true. It can go straight into a 500 degree oven, come out and be placed on a cool surface, and not crack! Don't try this with your average pie pan.

Beautiful and functional pie dish - made in France.

Firstly, I really appreciate that this pie dish is made in France. I go out of my way to support companies who choose to manufacture domestically and in Europe, a region with one of the most stringent worker, material, and environmental safety standards.Made In, as their name suggests, cares about where their products are manufactured. They describe their commitment on their website: "We partnered with the best raw material providers and multi-generational, family-owned manufacturers in the U.S. and Western Europe to build superior culinary tools. With the world’s finest chefs as product development partners, Made In products are designed to perform and crafted to last."I now own quite a few items from the Made In brand and I have been happy with all of them, this pie dish is no different. The pie dish is excellent quality - sturdy and well made. I have the "White w/ Red Rim" color and it looks very elegant - the subtle red stripe gives them just a hint of something extra to the otherwise plain white. This pie dish is the perfect size and shape for baking a classic pie and the porcelain makes it such a beautiful and functional piece.I expect to enjoy this pie dish for years to come. This is the kind of quality you have for a long time. I highly recommend it, as well as the Made In brand in general!

King Of All Pie Dishes?

If there’s one thing I enjoy it’s a nice pie. Those who know me will certainly tell you that is quite obvious judging from my appearance alone, but they will also tell you of my rhapsodic hours long sagas detailing my pie crust recipes for sweet or savory pies, and my endless search for the finest pecans America has to offer, or other tales of fillings I’ve tried in my pies. I included a shot of my Christmas pecan pies at the end to show you I’m serious about this. While my crust edges are a bit rustic, the crust itself is an all butter variety that is both crumbly and flaky, which among pie aficionados is considered perfection. Well, leave it to Made In to come up with what may be the finest 9- inch pie dish that the world has ever known. Hand-crafted in France from a 202-year-old porcelain recipe, it is a bit on the expensive side, but for what you are getting in terms of quality and material, it’s well worth the price. You don’t have to just make pies with this dish either. Rated for use up to 650 degrees and two-inches and change deep, you can make a cheesecake, a dense chocolate cake or other baked goods, potatoes au gratin, a small roasted chicken or other smaller entrees for one or two people. In other words, it’s a versatile shape and of sufficient size and depth that you will find many uses for it. It looks great on your table with its classic white with a red stripe on the edge, and speaking of the edge…. The rim is flat and wide enough to allow you to get creative with your crust crimping options. A very nice option. The thermal shock resistant porcelain is microwave and dishwasher safe, though hand washing is recommended, and the pie dish can go from freezer to oven if necessary without fear of breaking. I can already tell my Christmas pies are going to be bigger and better than ever before this year, but in the meantime, I’m going to try a delicious summer quiche with zucchini, a chicken pot pie, and a meat pie from a 150-year-old family recipe a nice French Canadian lady I know gave me. I definitely will update the review if I have any issues, but for now, I can say as the owner of several pieces now that Made In is living up to its claim and delivering very finely crafted pro cookware at a reasonable price.
